Need to put on weight. Am 43, height 5'8" Weight 8.2 stones.In perfect health & eating normally. Been to the doctor for blood tests & results are that I have a v high metabolism rate. So can eat till the cows come home...won't make a difference was the doctors advice.
For the past month been doing an hourly work out, (provided by the gym instructors), every other day.Also taking a weight gain supplement called Meata-cel. Still no "results" Is there any help out there? [8D]

am 22 height 5'8 weight 14.6 stones will swap 4 for very high metabolism

Don't hear that a lot, but yep, it can be troublesome for those with high metab.

To address the other problem mentioned by sharkeyandgeorge, one could start with not eating anything just before going to bed, preferably a few hours even - you don't burn your food normally during sleep, which means storing a lot of fat. Quite a few people lose a few stones even in only two months simply by not munching before going to bed... a simple and effective method, but one easily overlooked by people.

My doctor also has a sense of humour saying, People will give their right arm for my metabolism. And I replied, they can have it for free :)

I was in same position 8 stone and 38.extra eating made no difference. didnt want to go gym hate weights.
you need to do lots of exersise use your own body weight, invent exersises that to you feel hard 1 hour most days is what i do
but not the type that gets you out of breath coz they wont work as you've found out
ive put on 3 stone in 2 years .press ups, sit ups, backlifts against the bath and that muscle will come you just dont notice at first DONT GIVE UP RESULTS WILL COME

its a bodybuilding forum but - you dont wanna be putting on fat do you!! Its got great nutritional advice and isnt just for extreme bodybuilders!

Just curious as to why you want to put the weight on, especially if you're in perfect health..........well, ...befor you answer I suppose it's because you're extremely thin eh ? so it's more cosmetic than medicinal reasons eh ?........I wish you luck anyway....eat lots of pizza , the meaty ones.....else, I wonder if there is a pill out there that can slow your metabolism down !!

when he says he wants to put on weight he means he wants to put on muscle!!!
i have the same problem and i do a LOT of archery, bikeriding, pushups and situps and that has seemed to do a good job in gaining wieght...
that weight gaining stuff u have h4mi is prolly a waste of money. u should ask ur doc on wat to use.

I did say Meaty Pizzas...not those dripping in three tons if cheese.....it muct be tricky to shoot arrows while doing situps when you're riding your bike [;)]

That weight gain stuff is a waste of money, for me anyway. & (correct me if Im wrong) but being underweight,ones bodys defences are on the borderline & leaves no room for fighting any sickness.So gaining weight is not purely cosmetic. Oh, & my docs humour is, "A girl will give their right arm for a metabolism rate like yours"; And my reply was, "They can have it for free"[:o)]

and yea i'm not under weigth but i have vary little fat and once i got sick and i became close to anarexic. so be careful when u are perfict or under weight
