Generally people are busy with school, university or work during the week.

I think its because most people are bored out of their skull, probably. You'd not believe the examples I could give of people rushing through a project over the Christmas holiday period. Linux was born that way, Emacs, the C language, Unix, and a quite a few others. Origin of the mythical 'man-month', where someone sits down and is able to get something working from scratch, in just a few weeks.

Same phenomenon, on a smaller scale. Ideas want out, sometimes.

If you have a family you don't get time on weekends.  It is all go go.  You would usually post after the kids go to bed.

If you live alone or with your parents you probably don't have the same kind of committments.  You are not at work or school on the weekend, socialising with other people , and most people crave social interaction of some sort.  Forums provide access to other people without running up huge phone bills. [;)]

At least on this forum you can pretend it it is worthwhile because you are actually only logged on for educational reasons.

If we could stop time and somehow still be able to interact and move in ' null time ' then we could stay up as late as we like without getting tired...YAYYYYY !!!

Am I to take it then, that you are a child? [:X] How intriguing.  Far be it from me to tell another how to raise her children.

However, if you wish for one's opinion, then you shall have it.
Children should be seen and not heard, and should retire to the nursery for twelve hours of sleep at no later than seven o'clock in the evening. One half of an hour may be allowed for prayers and a little wholesome reading from the good book.

One wonders how many points will be deducted for this dialogue?[:X]

I don't think it matters so much when or for how long someone gets sleep, as long as it's in a regular pattern. I get strung out when I stay awake for long periods of time and then have random bits of sleep afterwards. There are quite a lot of studies showing that kids suffer in school if they don't have regular sleep patterns, since they are half asleep in class.

It's funny how when I was a lot younger I couldn't stand going to sleep and now I can't get enough [:D]

wOw the world spins?

i am not a child and was trying to say that i got in to a pattern in earlyer years and it has...set a bad example for my younger sister.

it does make a difference on the amont of sleep u get! i get 0-7 hours of sleep on a work day on the week ends i get 7-12 hours of sleep. i am in a much better mood on the week ends!!!

I set a personal record recently where I slept for over 17 hours [:D]. I can tell you now I felt like crap afterwards, I had been up for two days solid before, typing on a computer.... I would have much preferred 7 hours sleep in between days than a mammoth day/sleep.

I've never had a regular sleep pattern in my life, but then I've never had any interest in regular patterns.

As for a reasonable bedtime for children, I think that if your mother thinks it unreasonable, it probably is.  Mother is always right.

You are much easioer to converse with in this format, Drew.
Thank you.
