According to my sister-in-law ..eating lots of these !!

So, what's in a YAM that can increase the risk of multi birth luff and joy !! ?

though I do love Yam.....and my kids did not all come at the same time !..phew !!

What type of yams are those - that would help clarify this question. In the Collonies we call things such as these (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yam_%28vegetable%29) yams. They have an orange inside. That picture looks like parsnips with their top cut off. (ouch!)

They are that all time favourite that just slips off your tongue Dioscorea Opposita...Chinese Yams !!..But...she meant any old Yam !!

Well Thats an unusual recipe and usage.. I could not find any nutrients listed to compare with any medication given to a women to help encourage multiple births!

Short of IVF procedures, I doubt multiple pregnancies/births are encouraged by Western Medicine. Highly unlikely that there was a western medication to encourage multiple births.

In Australia, they have recently made multiple implants during IVF undesirable.
