I have heard that on a hot day it's best to drink hot drinks, such as tea and coffee. But can this be true?
-
i have never heard that. the only tea i'd even think of on a hot day would be iced tea, but i don't really like iced tea

I have heard it said so, but I have also heard others say it is nonesense. I cannot really say which is true.

I believe it has to do with the body having to warm the cool drink, thereby warming up the body (well the feeling of being warmed up). However this doesnt make sense with hot drinks, because your body is still using up energy to cool the drink off, which I would think would still raise your temp. Anyone else?

If it has any substance to it, I would imagine it has more to do with the way hot water is absorbed into the body rather than cold water.
