Title: Are allergies on the increase?
Post by: DoctorBeaver on 23/11/2008 14:13:39
When I was at school, I don't remember anyone having a nut allergy. Now it seems that every man and his dog suffer from it. Sandra has a long list of things that she can or cannot include with her kids' lunch in case someone has an allergy to it (for instance, the only drink they can take is water).

Are allergies becoming that common these days or are we just being made more aware of them?

I heard that dust mite allergies are more common due to increased use of carpets in the home, the suggestion is to go back to wood flooring.

Paul - yes, you're correct about that. I was mainly referring to food allergies (which I failed to make clear).
