Title: How do you "unlock" a phone?

After hours of toil searching the internet for a way to unlock my phone. All i got was 'Unlock your phone for $30 or links that didnt take me anywhere..

So, Does anybody have any ideas on how to unlock a:

LG Chocolate, On the Orange network?

Heehee.. My sister has an LG chocolate.

I'm pretty sure it's not possible unless your a specialist.

Otherwise I would have bought an Iphone and unlocked it [;D]

I did find a site.. But KG800 wasn't one of the available list of unlocking phones [:(]

With the phone in standby, enter 2945#*7101# this will activate the extra menu>
then go:
Settings>Security>SimLock>Network select deactivate this is where you can enter your code


Now I just need to find the unlock code. *Sigh* LOL

There is no settings option on the ENG. Menu..

I think this is a Faker.. But I guess it's worth a try..

To Unlock KG800/LG Chocolate
1. Insert sim from the network that it is locked to.
2. Turn on phone
3. On home Screen, Slide up phone
4. Type 2945#*#
5. ENG. Mode menu should appear
6. Go Down to Factory Reset Select it, may take a few minutes to reset!!!!!
7. This will reset the phone back to before the Phone was locked to a network
8. The phone will automaticaly Restart(Note The Network Logo At start up will not change)
9. Now insert Any simcard(Not tested with 3 sims)and the phone should turn on normaly
10. The phone is now unlocked and you can customise the setting as you like.

Try typing the numbers..

ENG is the menu it goes to when i type the numbers.

I did. After i restored the settings. It just went back to the menu that was on show in the first place..

I couldnt do anything with the numbers. I spoke to my network prodiver and they said theyl send me a new sim out. Another few month withou a phone. *Sigh* haha

When i rang the guy up..He said wel send you a new sim card..FOR FREE!!..so im pretty happ with that  [:)]..but ive lost all my numbers and texts so thats the down side [:(]

For £20 Orange will normally give you the unlock code. Phone up their customer services. This may be the easiest solution...
It will certainly avoid any risk of side-effects that you might get with other methods.

Yes.. But it's expensive!
You could just go to a shop and get it done for about a fiver. But make sure they have the correct LG unlock clip.
