The fact that you can't measure a Photon directly seems to be a good indicator that there is something to my theory.

What can you measure "directly"?
For example, how do I measure an electric current "directly"?

A suicide that looks like an accident isn't that rare.

Here's the sketch of the experimental setup. I think this is so simple that anyone can replicate it.


In case it hasn't been obvious, the whole system should be electrically isolated from its environment. Including the ground below the cans.

A represents clamp Ampere meter in AC mode. V represents Voltmeter in DC millivolt mode.

If I actually set up this experiment, and show that there is no voltage, will you shut up about it?

if so, I'd like proper specifications, sizes currents, concentrations etc so you can't say I didn't do it right.

The temperature of absolute zero is exactly zero- by definition.

What you measure is the temperature, (relative to the temperature  of the triple point of water) of the freezing and boiling points of water to establish what 0^oC and 100^oC are

You can do that for the whole world by using height above sea level.

The Elizabeth Tower which houses Big Ben is 96 metres tall.
Since it starts pretty close to the Thames, the top is close to 96 metres above sea level.

Big Ben, in the belfry of the tower, is about 66 metres above sea level. It's 2.9 metres from top to bottom.

Also, that is why this is better, you can reference any point in the total volumetric area of the planet using 3 values.

Virtually none of which would be any use.

I have a related, but similar suggestion.
Rather than a percentage of the Earth's radius, we use a unit based on the circumference.
In particular, we could use 1/100,000,000 of the length of the quadrant through Paris.
That would, rather conveniently, be the metre.

The voltage gradient is big enough to pull the electrons out of the atom.
In some cases they have a hot filament which emits electrons and those can be accelerated by the field and when they hit an atom (or molecule) they ionise it and start a Townsend Avalanche.

At least part of the difference is that the malt is kilned longer/ hotter so it's more caramalised.

They do, but it's slow.
In order to pull water molecules away from the ice you have to supply energy (the latent heat of sublimation).
In deep space there's practically no energy supply so evaporative cooling will chill the comet down to a point where it only evaporates very slowly.
When the orbit takes it near the sun, it starts to evaporate because it warms up.
The vapour is seen as a tail

There being no wind to disperse it, I guess it just sublimes a bit when the sun shines and recondenses in situ (in craters at the south pole) at night.
