You can explore the galaxy a lot. Not every star, of course, but enough to waste days messing around. You can also explore the local group a bit, but you can't go inside other galaxies, of course. I love how they added in extrasolar planets and how you can speed through time to see things in motion. I tried scoping out the satelite probes, too, but the only one I could see was Cassini, the others took me to a location but nothing was there. I'll try again later and see if they show up.

Post by: neilep on 02/10/2006 22:31:47: THANK YOU GAIA...This looks amazing !!...however....why oh why oh why oh why does it stop downloading at 99% EVERY SINGLE TIME !!

I've tried downloading so that is runs straight away...no joy...I've tried downloading to save to computer...and for the fourth time it sticks at 99% and I'm really upset cos me want to visit stars and stuff !!....I find this happens quite a lot with all kinds of downloads......not every time...but often enough for it to really piss me off !!...why do these things happen ?

Do other peeps experience this ?

Post by: syhprum on 04/10/2006 17:57:29: PC's running Windows seem to need a great deal of maitainence, I am always surprised that anyone who is not an IT specialist ever keeps one working for any length of time.
Have you done all the usual thing, checked for virus's, defragmented, loaded all the updates ect? .
Download PC diagnostics http://www.pcpitstop.com/ and see if it throughs up any suggestions.

Post by: Gaia on 05/10/2006 12:13:59: I recommend using www.hitmanpro.nl Be warned, it takes a long time to run but you will be amazed at the c**p it cleans off your computer. It runs many of the anti-virus/adware/spyware/trojan etc etc programmes for you so you don't have to do them all individually. If you are running a firewall (which you really should if you're on the internet) then you may have to babysit for a while to give permissions for the programmes to run. It really is a VERY good and thorough clean-up!!!!! You should also defrag your hard drive(s) regularly.

Post by: syhprum on 07/10/2006 11:24:44: I ran 'HitmanPro' just for curiosity as I have a pretty c**p free computer, I found it takes an age and needs a lot of operator intevention but is very thorough.
One minor point my compuper will no longer do a software restart also it will not run on either Vista64 or XP64 but is no problem to run with WIN2000.
I do not think too much de-fragmenting is always a good idea, when everything is packed up tight crashes seem more common when you load new stuff but this is only an impression
