Title: Why is my mouse bleeding?
Post by: Geezer on 27/02/2012 23:58:21
Aaaarggg!

My computer mouse developed a nasty blister on its side, right where I park my thumb. When I squeeze the blister, some clearish oily looking liquid oozes out.

Is this mouse blood? Is it dangerous?

The mouse bears the name of a certain small software outfit based in Redmond, Washington. Do you think I will be able to sue them?

Small company in Redmond?  I suppose if you compare it to the Steve Jobs Steamroller...  it is in fact small!!!

Do they make gel mice?

I suppose it is time for a new mouse...  or, you could just find an old hard-plastic one.  That is if you can find one that plugs into your computer.

Oh...  I can just imagine the British Tabloids now...

The Billgate mouse scandal!!!!

Why do the British like to add the term "Gate" to any scandal?

The Daily Sham has revealed a conversation recorded a few days ago between what it claims to be aliens about to invade the Earth. Chief Editor Sadiel Fitzuup said, “This must surly justify phone hacking as a legitimate and useful tool in the news reporters means of obtaining information what are is am were in the public interest.”

Investigative reporter Ivor Listeningdevice claims to have overheard the following conversation when he was  trying to order a takeaway pizza using his Beriberi smarter-than-yours phone.

Voice #1 “Oh great and masterful one, the planet Earth is now primed and ready for our take-over.”

Voice #2 “You have done well my little mice. You have the Earthlings dependant on you for their computer control. We must act now before the Earthlings realise what we are doing and turn to touch screen technology.”

Voice #1 “We are ready to execute your orders, oh great and masterful one. Tell us what is to be done and we shall obey.”

Voice #2 “You shall issue forth with a substance which will jam up every mouse on the planet, then they will be at our mercy.”

There then followed a hideous and menacing laugh.

Voice #1 “We will obey, oh great and masterful one, we shall ooze forth with strange and innocuous fluid, by your command.”

Voice #2 “The Viral Knights are ready to attack when you have….”

At this point a third voice said “Spotty Clock Pizza delivery service, how may I help you?”

I signed up just to post this.

Funny I ran into this today, also with a Redmond-based mouse. I took it a step further and did what anybody might do with a blister: pop it. I documented the process for posterity(had to lean the phone against a beer bottle):

The fluid was very cellular so one hole didn't seem to drain much.

At last I am vindicated!
