Why is there the same amount of daylight in summer as there is in winter?

In what way do you mean the same amount of daylight in winter as in summer?
The Earth is (approximately) the same distance from the sun throughout the year, so about the same amount of light falls on the earth as a whole... but summer and winter result from the hemisphere of the earth in question being pointed more or less towards the earth and so getting more hours of more intense sunlight in summer, and fewer in winter.
