How does one test the bouncy of ones knuckles when they are attached to the arm?

Your knuckles float more than any other part of your body? Is it fair to say your knees also 'float', but your elbows and ankles 'sink'? Are you sure it's not the fact that, palm down, knuckles point upwards when the fingers bend and thus find themselves above the surface of the water?
