Hey guys. I remember when i was a kid i bit my lip, and i was told that my mouth is the fastest place to heal on the body?
Is this true?

The skin on the lips is one of the thinnest on the body (hence why kissing is such a sensual experience), so there is less to heal on the lips than on some other parts of the body.

The mouth and digestive tract are at least some of the fastest healing bits of the body. They need to be. They are often damaged by bits and pieces in food and also the gut is under constant atack from the the digestive process. Since they are also a good place for a lot of bacteria to grow (and potentially cause infection) it's just as well they heal quickly. Such tissues, which heal rapidly, are decribed as "euplastic" which is one of the most obscure words I know.

I have a theory that the moisture helps with healing. All the rage these days for healing pressure sores in bed ridden patients is 'wet healing'..it allows the skin to heal without much fear of splitting again.
Allowing for wet healing and thin skin, it's an ideal healing place.
