Title: What are the differences, frequencies of Aurora Borealis in different places?

Such as south of the Arctic, and closer to the equator. Is there differences in frequency and appearance in different places. Does this change depending on where you are seeing them?

The only experience I have is listening to reflected radio signals and bouncing my own signals off them.    They are more common during Sunspot Max and occur some hours after solar flares so there is some warning.   They are rarely visible very far south.

That is interesting. A couple years ago I was driving over into Blue lake Just 4 miles north east or so from me. It was late at night and it there was a very odd light all the way across the sky kind of greenish blue glowing .It lit the whole place up brightly! It was something I saw.. and was covered in the paper for several days after.. The Coast guard said it was some kind of atmospheric phenomenon liken to the Aurora Borealis.
