Title: what is the name for a chain of amino acids?
Post by: Quantumcat on 26/04/2003 06:41:58
Someone asked me, I've forgotten, I was sure there was a name for them when they're just a chain fresh out of a ribosome but not yet tangled into a protein. Is there really a name for it? Perhaps I am deluding myself? I am sure I remember there being a name ... hrm

It's a polypeptide. The bonds between the amino acids are called peptide bonds.
