when freezing flavoured ice cubes, Why do you have to double the volume of cordial, to get the same strength of taste as unfrozen water?

I don't know between frozen and non-frozen drinks.But i think when freezing flavoured ice cubes, Why do you have to double the volume of cordial, to get the same strength of taste as unfrozen water?

I guess there could be a couple of things, most of taste is actually smell, so dependent on molecules evaporating and miking it up your nose, so the colder it is the less evaporation, so the less smell. Also the cold reduces the efficiency of nerve so your taste buds may just get less sensitive.
