Dear Fireflyologists,
Fireflies are my all time favourite fly that lights up !
Look here's some....they are very clever too because they are camouflaging themselves as a Christmas Tree !!.....well..actually...I suppose it's a bit daft really because it's June !!

If it wanted to...could a firefly keep it's light on ?...can they produce their light through out their entire life time ?...and how do they do it anyway ?
Enlighten me will ewe ?
Thanks

Thank Ewe RD for the link. It's very kind of you to locate that for me .
But I do wonder if they can sustain a light for quite some duration or is it just a short burst ?

I can't find a duration but I assume they can do this throughout their life....In one of the articles I read, it did say females are brighter then males.
This is just wiki information on Fireflys..its interesting.
