They just can't understand cricket.
-
I feel sorry for Americans...and Germans.
-
I too feel sorry for Americans and the French.....though I understand they can't help it.
-
I have never seen a cricket game and only heard it talked about here and on television!
It is similar to baseball eh??
-

You've not missed much, it's about as exciting as watching paint dry.
-
I'd much prefer to watch Crickets procreating !

AHHH well that doesn't sound like it bodes well for the game of Cricket!
-

No. Cricket takes skill. Baseball is just whacking a ball with a bit of wood & hoping for the best. And if you'd ever been hit by a cricket ball you'd realise what a bunch of nancy-boys baseball players are.
-
They don't have rugby league either, their grid-iron game is boring as hell to watch, and they're pansies for padding themselves up so much :P
-
haha..we don´t need cricket...at least we have a soccer-team thats able to make to the Em finale do we don´t ned an other sport to deflect us [;D]
-
I thought that baseball was similar to rounders, a game only played in England by primary school kids.
-
I understand Cricket but I don't understand Baseball. In baseball, once you hit the ball, you drop the bat and start running...but what happens to the bat? are they just left there to pile up or does somebody pick it up?
It doesn't seem to make any difference, on the Wii, if you drop it or not. I wish there was Wii cricket.

You are rubbish at darts too! [:D]

Interesting that Georg Hackl does Wok racing as well.
...and who won the stage in the Tour Of France today anyway? and didn't the brits clean up at the Track World Champs?
I'll give you the ski jumping, but ask anybody who won the Calgery Olympics, I bet nobody could tell you who won but they will all tell you who was last!

Spoken just like someone that doesn't know how to play! [:P]

Why on Earth would I want to know how to play a Nancy-boy game? [;D]

I think the Beave may have a point, all the american games seem to involve lots of padding whereas all the proper games don't.

Hang on a tick, how did Baseball get into the olympics and cricket get overlooked?

Shin kicking, that's a man's game [:)] ...
In shin kicking, contestants square off, lock arms and hack at each other's shins until one of them is thrown to the ground.
In the bad old days, shin kickers wore hobnailed boots with metal toecaps.
Some losers-and winners-ended up crippled for life, while a few died from their injuries.
A report from 1843 tells of a 45-minute clog fight near Manchester,
involving two men "both in a state of nudity with the exception of each having on a pair of strong boots".

Cricket is not solely a man's game but women play it and sometimes win.

Even with understanding, it seems the English just can't create something interesting. It is about as exciting as the Scottish game, golf. Rabbit holes and what is it - wickets? Sticky ones that don't work, too. Oh well, daft Englishmen will be daft.

You are in agreement with your fellow countryman Mark Twain who said that "Golf is a good walk spoiled".

Mark Twain was 24 handicapper, he would say something like that.

You may find it was an Englishman who created this forum. If you don't find it interesting then bog off back to your greasy holes in the ground, you gneiss-gnlover!

Creation with reference to "sports," sport. So pull in the claws and drag that fat, flat tail back to the pond, dirt dauber.

Good point really- the English invented Baseball.
It seems the French claim to have invented cricket.

Yeah, they would. Have the French ever invented anything?
-
I think quite a lot of interesting cuisine was invented by the French. Everyone has to be good at something, but sadly the Americans seem to be an exception to the rule. Oh no, I forget, the Americans are good at trying to be good at things. You have to give them credit for trying hard.

Such as?
-
Well, if this

is the whole lot then I'm glad I'm not French.
-
In mediaeval times there were two games that anyone could join in with - 'knocking the hat off' and the 'arse-kicking contest'.
I know this is true because I saw it a re-enactment day last summer at a local Norman castle.
The hat knocking is simple - you try no knock someone's hat off but the arse-kicking is more complicated in that you have to hold your belt with both hands and try to kick someones arse - it actually looked quite difficult.
Those were the days, when people knew how enjoy themselves. [;D]

They didn't even invent French knickers!

What about French kissing and letters?
-
In France, French kissing is called English kissing. French letters were invented by the Romans.

If they were dead they wouldn't want anything to eat! (https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Fdoh%2F3.gif&hash=4a5b1d07bd8448a8aa35b9dd4e24e2ef)

We could be looking at a case for the RSPCA here, it seems there is some animosity as to the condition of the afore mentioned doormice, at the time of their stuffing !
In law, if the doormice were stuffed whilst still alive, even sedated, there is a cruelty case, as well as a criminal one, if they were deceased however, they cant spill the beans, can they ? [::)]
