Title: Why do hair and eyebrows grow to different lengths?
Post by: Lauren Rosen on 07/08/2008 09:23:44
Lauren Rosen  asked the Naked Scientists:

Hello!
I live in Sydney, Australia and I love your show (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/). I listen to the Podcast (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/) every week while I work .

I wanted to know how come certain hair follicles like eyelashes and eyebrow hairs will only grown to a certain length but hair on your head will keep growing.

Furthermore, how do  they grow back to the same length when plucked?

Cheers

You guys ROCK

Lauren

What do you think?

Hi Lauren

this link, to a question answered on the show in the past, answers this question quite well:
