I'm sure you mean PHOTOSYNTHESIS eh ? here is a link or two: http://www.emc.maricopa.edu/faculty/farabee/BIOBK/BioBookPS.html

http://photoscience.la.asu.edu/photosyn/education/learn.html

http://www.ftexploring.com/photosyn/photosynth.html  (I like this one , it involves hugging trees, that's about my level )

Or you could get involved in the incredibly complex discussion being held in the general science section.  I need to do about 3 years of study before I get back into that one though. Way out of my league.

no offence but the web site were pointless i was more intrestide in the effiancey of the chloraplast in to a type of soler panel that would be more effitiont then the soler panals in use

but thank u for the sites any way

When you ask how do plants do photosynthesis or however you spell it it depends how much detail you want. I mean we all know (i think we do) that a plant needs to take in water and and carbon dioxide and uses the suns energy and the chlorophyll to turn it into glucose and the waste product which it oxygen.
The chemical forumula is...

6 H2O + 6 CO2 #8594; 6 O2 + C6H12O6

If any of that is wrong then please tell me.

mmm hi!

No one knows for a hundred % certainty exactly how all of the process of photosynthesis works, my A-Level biology teacher kept telling us to remember that we were only learning the most current "theory". So the answer is no! No one KNOWS exactly [:D]. But we are fairly certain about most of it, it's hard to look at life on a molecular scale whilst it’s still living. Electron microscopes need to have there specimens specially prepared killing what you are looking at, and UV microscopy kind of sucks last time I checked. So any interesting structures you are trying to investigate get destroyed. Inside leaf cells there are different pigments chlorophylls that react to a certain wavelength photon striking them; they liberate an electron and pass it up to other molecules that use the electron to drive proton pumps in membranes that do all sorts of crazy things... It's been a while since I’ve done any biology >_< I remember such words as redox, ATP and calvin cycle... I've found a page which pretty much sums up what I was taught.

Cool fact [:D] chlorophylls look red when removed from cells because the electron they liberate "falls" back down emitting a photon in the red part of the spectrum... I remember having to grind a butt load of nettle leaves up for this experiment.. im still wondering to this day WHY we had to use stinging nettles [:(].

wOw the world spins?
