Hi Monkey, I lived in Japan for a year but that was 20 years ago. Went back on hols last Easter. Really love the place. Lived in Yutenji near Shibuya-ku. If you haven't already been yet you should go to the curry rice shop in Yutenji. The master is train mad and delivers your dinner on a model train.

I lived their 21 years ago teaching English as a foreign language. I got to go back last year and it hadn't changed much at all apart from a slightly greater western influence. I think the only other change was the lack of school girls shouting "Hello" at me. They seem to be more accepting of a foreign presence. I didn't feel quite so much the giajin. this time.
