I went to a theme park last weekend,there was this magician there who performed a really cool optical illusion.....he made his head appear as though it was shrinking!by using a spinning disk.First he told the audience that it would only work if we stared into the centre for a full 30 seconds,then look straight at his head........his head totally looked like it was shrinking[:p]it was great!!!!
He then told us how he was able to do this...............the muscles in the eye contracts...creating an optical illusion.

Post by: nowhistling1 on 07/06/2007 23:15:34: I'm not entirely sure this should go here, but i've got a question that I wonder if anyone could answer. Sometimes during the day when I look at the sky I can see a very faint kind of 'checker board' pattern shifting through the sky. It's like a kind of wave feild. I only see it sometimes and I have no idea what it is. I was wondering if it would be an optical illusion? I've had someone suggest to me in the past that it's a certain type of wave length that perhaps only few people could pick up on...but I wasn't too sure about that one. Any ideas?
