Hi all, just thought I'd make those who have not been onto this website aware of how good it is.
www.ted.com
Lectures about all sorts of good stuff in laymans terms from experts. What more could you want. Try the one about bacteria communicating.

You're right, I've just watched the bacterial communication talk - excellent.

Yes, I posted a lecture by Jonathon Haidt the other day. I am a bit uncomfortable with TED as an organisation though. They charge something like $1000 membership fee and it has become popular with the "chattering" classes, including the Hollywood wealthy. It's a free world of course, and I have nothing against their ethical viewpoint, but it could be considered somewhat elitist. To be honest I am not sure what to think - certainly their freely broadcast lectures from invited speakers are very good.
What do others think about this??

As long as the information is truthful and scientifically correct, I'm happy. Chattering classes do need something to chatter about. Rather this than z list celebs and their private lives.
