Title: Why is my index fingers first joint stiff and very painful only in that knuckle?

It is on my right hand index finger  right below the finger nail at the joint.

I have no injuries or hang nails and have not hurt the finger, but I awoke this morning to a very painful joint.. just that one on my hand and my hip Joint is also Killing me.. can not walk today without assistance...at all.... today was a walker and crutch day.

I have never had a finger joint behave like this...It acts and feels like when you get a real bad infection, its really sore and tender but this is deep inside the underside of that  first knuckle joint.. there is a slight redness all the way around that knuckle or joint area.

What could cause this?

 I am already taking Keflex 500mg  4 times a day, for a cist elsewhere..

 Can Keflex cause Joint  or bone pain and swelling?

ok here it is a little while later nnI am having to add myright thumbsame joint ! It has just begun doing the same thing.... swelling hard bump really sore on the bone.... something odd is going on...I am allergic to Pennicillian so maybe this is a reaction to the Keflex....so weird.....

Ok It is now affecting 4 of my 5 fingers on my right hand and I believe at tbis point it must be my arthitis and if it is something has to be done because this is not just uncomfortable my fingers are so stiff and hurt like crazy today.. the first joints are swollen and red to look at also inflamed and hot... I did some reading and I guess it is cmmon for psoriatic arthritis to effect fingertips and I do have raynaulds syndrome too.... seems they can be hand in hand.. but no one told me how painful the flareups were going to get. They really hurt so does my hip and ankles and shoulders this week.... not good.

Ok I went to the Doctor Tuesday and she said that it was indee a flair up of the arthritis.. and as of monday and Tuesday It has backed off some.. hey are still lightly stiff and tonight more shoulder back and hips....soaked 15 minutes in hot tub after water aerobics.... felt good but a bit stiff tonight....after a huges hour NAP!!! Lol...shocked me too! lol...
anyway mystery solved and Looks like I need to find out how to deal with these flareups....rather then panicking!
