Title: 2012 Magnetosphere Revolves/Weakens And Solar Wind?

In 2012 the magnetosphere is anticpated to be weaker, solar winds and coronal mass ejections threathen power grids and satellites, and may scorch the earth, "fire from Heaven"... What can we predict and what can we do, how long will the weakness in the magnetosphere last for? Will we lose gas?

Scientists are worried, are they not, that the weakening of the Earth's magnetic field might lead to damage to satellites from incoming cosmic radiation...
