Title: Probability of being an exact copy ?
Post by: savio marel oliver on 15/06/2009 15:13:01
What is the probability of your child being an exact copy of yourself - Physically (at the same  age) genetically identical ?
This question is really weird as your spouse should be your relative ,
the more closer the better the probability !!

This would occur if you were cloned: your "mini-me" would be genetically identical to you.

Having a spouse who is closely related to you is not a good idea as this will hugely increase the likelyhood of your recessive genes (usually deleterious) to be expressed in the child (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inbreeding#Results_of_inbreeding).

If you want an illustration of the disastrous consequences of inbreeding look at the Royal families. [:)]
