if you were in open space two things would happen....the bullet will continue in a straight line unless some external force encounters it...and so would you in the opposite direction, but at a much slower rate....which is nice ![:)]

for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. force = mass x acceleration, so the bullet goes fast and you go slow.

It would be interesting [:I]; as a scientific experiment of course. Wonder if NASA has done this yet, on the sly? First female astronaut… had to be a reason to send both sexes up [:D].

Gotta watch out though, children conceived/born in space turn out to be super intelligent monsters…. As shown by most sci-fi [:)]

Another don't: Don't use anything built or maintained by NASA... WTF is going on with that Shuttle; I think they are just being overly safety conscious to make sure... I hope it’s just that anyway.

  Take a big bag of rocks with you and throw them as fuel.  or you could go up with a friend and play catch with rocks until you are on opposite ends of the universe from throwing and then catching them, pushing you farther and faster each time.  You would just have to make sure you live forever and have a really good pitch aim and you're all set.
