Title: Why Is A Hot Day Darker Than A Cold Day ?

Dearest Dayologists,

As a sheepy I of course luff days !..days are my all time favorite segmented 24 hour portions of a week !






Days as ewe all well know come in two varieties:


Hot Ones:

 [ Invalid Attachment ]






and ..Cold Ones:

 [ Invalid Attachment ]




Any other types of day are not really the real thing and should be endured with caution !

Now then, my boy came up to me today and what appeared to a be rather brazen statement said, that cold days are brighter than hot days !!...what's that all about ?

As a firm believer in empirical study I snuk into my neighbours house at 3am this morning, and he kindly agreed, (whilst also delightfully being happy to be sedated and gagged ) he agreed to pay for me to spend all his money and pay for a round the world cruise encompassing very many and varied temperate zones....
...anyway..after being a martyr and enduring such a trauma and via the use of a time/space swirly thing....I arrived back home earlier today and realised that I forgot to take my sunglasses off the whole time !!..DOH !!

So, no luck there...

Is there any truth to my sons statement that hot days are darker than cold days ?....if so...why so ??

If you're taking about the colour of the sky, rather than the intensity of sunlight reaching Earth, then you may have a point ...

It's something I think ewe really wouldn't normally notice. I can't say I have, so, when my boi mentioned it ..I had to ask. It's good to see that there is a science involved here and that it is in fact true.

The blueness of the sky also changes with atmospheric conditions, and altitude. An area with little water vapour will have a bluer sky.

And the higher you go the bluer and darker the sky appears - as there are fewer particles to scatter the light - until it is black in space. (This is a gradual thing and there is no actual boundary.)

Hot days probably have less snow on the ground than cold days.
