Overall, based on the eight categories analyzed, crime was up 2.86 percent during a full moon compared with all other days.
Cops knew it.
But no one ever told the actual reason why ? and how full moon day effects minds of people ?

Yes, I think it's more a case of the criminal eye than the criminal mind, but it might depend on location too.
In well lit towns the extra light of the full moon is likely to deter criminals because they are more likely to be seen, while in less well lit rural areas it would be better to commit crime when there is a full moon, negating the need for a torch (flashlight) which would make the criminal stand out like a sore thumb.
