Title: How was space created.............

OK, being serious: I don't think you can talk about "space" existing in the absence of everything else. The only reason we use the concept of "space" is as a way of helping us to describe the existence/location/motion of "things" (particles/objects/energy packets). So I'm not sure anyone can answer "what is space / where does it come from" without addressing the question of where "matter" (or energy) comes from.

So you end up back at the "big bang" I'm afraid ...

(And by the way, the big bang shouldn't be thought of as an explosion into an "empty space" that existed before the big bang - it should be thought of as the creation of time, space, matter and energy all together. Which all puts something of a strain on my tiny little mind ...)
