Title: Why do car alarms go off during thunderstorms?

Why do car alarms go off during thunderstorms? Is it just from the vibration of the air due to the sound wave, or a result of the electrical effect?

Seems to me it would have to be the vibration, wouldn't it?  Since air is a poor conductor, even though a lightning bolt may be close it doesn't really produce electrical disturbance in something it doesn't strike, does it?
