Title: Can Quantum Entanglement Bend Space?

All these Discovery and History channel series enjoy spreading the idea that space is very easily distorted. If, indeed, this is a valid representation, could not quantum entanglement exist because two particles have connected space at a single point where each of the two entangled particles exist?
(To help understand my question, imagine a blanket being folded over and having the two layers squeezed between two fingers. The blanket is a representation of space, and the point the fingers squeeze is the point in space connected by the entangled particles.)
