Title: Can acquired knowledge be passed on in DNA?
Post by: kencreffield on 16/07/2010 11:31:13
The traditional answer is no - your kids cannot inherit your acquired knowledge.
I have read recenty that an individual's DNA changes over the years. This suggests acquired memories can be passed on.
Does any serious scientist consider that is possible?

Thanks for the interesting question. This is actually a topic that we examined in some detail in a recent Question of the Week.
