Title: Will you be celebrating Guy Fawkes Night?
Post by: Don_1 on 29/10/2010 11:28:09
I’m pretty sure that anyone visiting TNS will have the good sense to take all the necessary precautions when celebrating Guy Fawkes Night. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fawkes)

But it never hurts to give a little reminder.

First off, please bear in mind that there may be a strike by fire-fighters on Guy Fawkes Night here in the UK. In London, just 27 fire appliances will be on call instead of the usual 196.

Please be careful with your fireworks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrotechnics) and bonfires. Always read and adhere to the instructions on fireworks. Never approach one which has failed to go off. Have a bucket of water handy, just in case, and it wouldn't go amiss to have your hose pipe at the ready.

Keep your pets indoors and please consider wildlife too. Check that no hedgehogs or other animals have crept under bonfires before lighting them and don't let off fireworks near roosting birds or by fox/badger/vole holes.

It's bad enough to watch your money going up in smoke, don't find yourself watching your house go the same way.

In the unfortunate event of a blaze, Only tackle it if it is safe to do so.

Remember, remember the 5th of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
Remember, remember homes can be rebuilt
But lives definitely cannot.

Don't believe a word of it.

Next thing he'll be telling you is they put the poor geezer on top of pile of wood, then set it on fire.

How's that for entertainment?
