My wife, who is 53, has been on estrace for the past 6 years. Without it she suffers from irritibility, sleeplessness and general malaise. While her doctor has grudgingly allowed her to stay on it, what other method of dealing with menopause, preferably of a natural method, might she try to help her in dealing with this phase of life.

I asked a local pharmacist as a friend of mine was wondering the same thing. Red Clover and Soy were two that he recommended, I'm sorry that I can't remember the rest at the moment. There are many off the shelf herbal remedies for menopause symptoms. I would have to recommend asking a few pharmacists, even her doctor. There are wonderful naturopathic remedies out there, but there can be reactions with other pharmaceuticals taken. There are also some with side effects that just aren't worth the trouble. Even just some simple diet changes without supplements have been shown to help many women. There are so many books and websites on natural ways to fight menopause, I'm sure you can find some great info for free. Hope this helps some.

Natural progesterone with no parabans in it is certainly worth a try. take a look at John Lee MD research into this subject. My wife has found it useful.
