How delightful! Another good reason to keep subsidising your state owned airline. (Is BA beginning to sound a lot like BR? - only sayin')

No doubt there is fierce competition for pricing with the airlines... when I can jump onto a half dozen websites and pull up the "cheapest" flight across the country, or around the world.

And being the lowest isn't always being the best.

I'd rather the companies not sell seats at a loss, something that makes no economic sense.

But...
The airlines have a long ways to go for customer satisfaction.  As it is, I would rather drive 1000 miles than fly 1000 miles.

Why is it that you can go to the train station... and buy a ticket for the next available train, at the "going rate".

But, if you go to the airport to buy a ticket for the next available flight, you might pay 2x or 3x the amount that others on the plane have paid.

Why are multi-hop flights cheaper than direct flights by the same airline?  Especially when they route the multi-hop flights to other destinations through the same airports?

Why is it so difficult to book a flight with transfers between different airline companies?

The major airlines complain about "discount" companies like Southwest.  But, the primary reason I choose Southwest over other carriers is that they provide BETTER SERVICE including it being easier to book 1-way, or 3-way flights, and easier to modify reservations.
