Who inspires you

What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.

1. Count of Monte Cristo - complex, yet singleminded.
2. Winston Churchill, - alcoholic, elitist, frequent failure, ultimate success through application of courage, fortitude, intellect and persistence i.e. complex, yet singleminded.
3. Nelson Mandela - the courage it took to forgive, anyet remember. Yes, a complex, yet single minded character.
4. ???
Ask me tomorrow and you shall get a different list, with different reasons.
Observe; collate; conjecture; analyse; hypothesise; test; validate; theorise. Repeat until complete.

1: DAFFY DUCK.....He's crazy and I luff crazy ducks !
2: CALIGULA.....Oh yea..oh yea..uh hu uh hu ! (failing that Leonardo Da Vinci....a man way way ahead of his time with an incredible gift for imaginative creativity.
3: HARRY HILL....He crazy and I luff crazy Harry Hill !...plus he's a doctor too and I luff crazy doctors !!
4: MUMMY....Through the trials and tribulations of her life and....well....there's just too much to say.

I have to admit to being very uneasy about the whole notion of heroes.
People are people, and if you put them up on a pedestal, you are merely setting them up for a fall..
There are individual actions that people have taken that I admire, just as there are individual actions that people have taken that I condemn, but that doesn't mean that I think that the one act (or small collections of acts) can ever define the totality of a person.

I agree with George. I don't have heroes as such. Certainly I recognise people who have performed heroic acts - Oskar Schindler being an example.
I don't really see how a fictional character can be a hero.

Perhaps a fictional character could be one of heroic inspiration then !..or a hero within the context of the text that inspires....

because he created on of the greatest films of all time
and through his ingenious abilities unconsciously made the greatest cult i know of and consider myself part of
and changed sooo many people's lives, culture, everyyything!
not to mention best music ever, and sings the best song ever himself
personal: my 6th grade teacher...i guess
yeah for me to still remember him after all of these years should say something :)
he was cool
that was the only year of school in my life i can remember in which actually learning was more important than grades
