most dog allergies in people are caused by a reaction to the Canf1 allergen found in a dog's saliva

It is possible to have an allergic reaction to secretions of another person ...

Is there any consistent behaviour that he has had prior to or while you are together? i.e. wearing a certain aftershave, eating a certain substance, wearing a certain garment?
And are you already an "allergic" person i.e. do you have a history of hayfever, asthma or eczema?
It does sound like you are having some sort of allergic / histamine-driven reaction; the key will be to identify the trigger.

I find it hard to believe that nobody seems to be allergic to their girlfriend.
(or is this just an urban myth??)
