Dearest Bubble-wrapologists,
As a sheepy, I of course enjoy bursting the bubbles in bubble wrap !...It's all I think about really. Yep, from the moment I wake up to the time I fall asleep , squishing bubble wrap is all I think about !!
Look, here's someone bursting some !

Someone bursting bubbles de la bubble rub maintenant !
Nice eh ? I can assure you that this person derived so much pleasure that they ordered a ship load to be delivered next Tuesday.
So, please to be telling me the 'Why' do we derive so much pleasure from squishing les bubbles ?
Hugs et les shmishes

One theory I heard is that it is analogous to spot-squeezing!
-
Or picking at dead skin... (go on, be disgusted!)
I definitely think the psychology is similar, but I'm not quite sure what's behind it.
I reckon the "one way" nature of it (you can pop a bubble, but you can't reverse or undo the popping) is a significant element of the compulsion. Any other ideas?
I have seen web-based bubble-popping simulations/pasttimes... but that's just pointless compared to the real thing [;D]
We have big rolls of pink bubble-wrap at work. It's special anti-static bubble-wrap (at least I hope it is and it's not just that the Chinese have found that they can charge 3x the price if they make it pink!!!)

Thanks techmind This then leads to the question as to what is the psychology behind wanting to pick scabs and press spots ?...as far as I am aware leaving the scab on and not pressing the spots is the best advice ! Can I please apply for the job of chief bubble popper at your work ? I realise it may be quite a selection process but I am prepared to graft it :-)

That certainly is disgusting. It's more fun picking one's nose.
