Here is the formula on Wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_balance
Just calculate the molecular weight and plug in the numbers.
The result will be "negative" since it does not contain any oxygen.
And, since it is a small molecule with no oxygen, I'm guessing it will be less (bigger number) than -100%.

can you calculate the formula by stepes .....plzz

please some one answer my question.....and also what does m means is nunber of atom of metal in the oxygen palance eqution.......
-
From Wikipedia:
2*(Carbon) + (Hydrogen)/2 + Metal - Oxygen
Oxidization of the explosive will produce Carbon Dioxide (CO2) + Water (H2O) + Anything else the oxidises such as Aluminum Oxide.
So, when calculating the balance, each Carbon atom takes two Oxygen atoms (thus you multiply it by two).
However, it takes two hydrogen atoms for each oxygen atom (thus you divide it by two).
In the case of propane, you do not have any additional "metal" atoms, nor do you produce any metal oxides, so M=0.

from the same wikipedia oxygen balance web site i find the potassium chlorate +39% and sulfur -100% and carbon -266 % .........does it have eqution also..
