I'm not sure hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?? how many ashes did we not take home?
Can't be too sure as I am not as old as the game itself!!
See you all at the winning end this year, OOPS I didn't realise I'll be the only one so far from this page to be there!
Don't forget to wave UP TO ME!

And as for the Ashes... just you wait... our side responds well to a good butt-whipping every now and then... it gives them the inspiration for a better performance next time!

It will be interesting to see what kind of bowling attack you'll have. No Warne, no McGrath, Lee getting on a bit and bowling 10mph slower, Gillespie mutated into a yeti, and as for that Kasparov thing... he should go back to playing chess! [:D]
Most of the team we have now will still be playing, still be in their prime, and have a hell of a lot of experience by then.
I think you'd better stand by for another butt-whooping!

Hi Eth
I hope you were pleased to hear your question being answered on the naked scientists show this weekend?

It helps that I only managed to watch the last 15 minutes of the match... (ie the good Aussie bit [;)]) I'm sure if I had watched the whole match I would have been less enthused by our game [8)]
And as for the cricket... I shall hold my tongue 'til the games begin. I have confidence in our team. [8D] As you do in yours I imangine... One thing is for sure - it certainly re-vamped the enthusiasm of Aussie spectators - after so many victories, enthusiasm was waning a little, but I hear that ticket sales for cricket have had a major increase since the Ashes test, so it can only be good for the sport.

The surge in enthusiasm here has been phenomenal. And, as you rightly said, that has to be good for the game.

Cheers Doc... and most people just call me KK... and knowing my addiction to forums, and my complete science-nerdishness I can imagine this forum rapidly becoming my latest non-chemical addiction... my chemical one being Diet Coke [xx(] Bad KK... DC is full of nasties and yet a can seems to find it's way to my desk around lunch time every day [:I]
PS... who is the him I have to watch out for? Should I be worried? [}:)]
A quick query... what are the rules on external smileys? Do they prefer is you stick to the ones here, or can I use the ones I have in my collection? (A sure sign that I spend WAY too much time on MBs!)

Be very afraid. You have met "him" already. It is the very learned, schizophrenic rodent himself. He has been know to accost elderly (OK, 50-60 year old) matrons with bags of candy. He can also dazzel a sweet child such as yourself with his beaver mesmer. An unsavory character indeed!
[8D]
BUT WE LOVE HIM in spite of this!!!

I was talking to a Scottish lad before the game and he said he didn't care which country won, Trinidad or Tobago! [:D]
Didn't see him afterwards, funnily enough!

KK slinks in with her tail between her lags... booohoooo.... Brazil whomped us! [:(] Mind you, I suppose I sort of expected it.

The convicts Australia have done better than i thought they would , they are playing quite well.
Brazil on the other hand are not what they were and will not win it this time round unless they improve going by what ive seen so far.
At the moment their are still 7 or 8 teams with a good chance of coming away with the trophey

Oh don't get me wrong - the Oz team is one of the best I've seen from Australia - and for all that we lost on sunday, we played a good game and did well to hold our own for as long as we did. The tactics we employed early on in the game were just too exhausting to maintain at match-winning level for the duration. Well done Aussies - a valiant attemp if I do say so myself. [:)]

I wouldnt want to be ronaldo when he goes back to man united, he head butted rooney just b4 the second half started to wind him up and then got rooney sent off.
Rooney was red carded for the push on ronaldo and not for the challenge.
But poetugal will not win it.

..yeah...also when Rooney was sent off Ronaldo winked at one of his mates !!...I'm sure the whole thing was staged to get Rooney off !!..and it seemed every time we tackled a player , it ended with a free kick to Portugal.......hmmm...don't suppose the ref being argentinian had anything to do with it !!..(he says in his ultra cynical way) [;)]

Blimey guv!
That France looked good tonight.
Its probably not a bad thing that England don't have to meet them and be totally humiliated.
To be honest, England looked poor throughout the tournament. Some strange formations by the Swede. What chance did Rooney have up there on his own. He's an attacking forward. Once he got the ball the Portugese defence surrounded him while his mates were at the other end of the pitch. Erikson just doesn't know how to play the lad at his best. At least Crouch hangs on to the ball until others can get into the box. A simple 4-4-2 would have won it for England as Portugal were pretty bad too.
La France to win, anybody agree?

Ausies were robbed of chances!!!
Who doesn't agree with the Italy/Australia match that the ref had something to answer for.
Did anyone see this. I have not seen so many Italians with theatrical degrees.
I'm sure Kittykat saw what I saw, was this portrayed that badly around the rest of the world. Or did Italy really win on their own merit?
