Title: Is there a south Pacific Gyre?

I've heard of the north pacific gyre, the place where ocean currents swirl in such a way as to bring floating garbage to one location between Hawaii and Alaska.
Is there a similar gyre in the south pacific, or any other ocean? If not, why?

I found the answer at scishow.com. Yes, there are gyres in the N pacific, S pacific, Indian ocean, N Atlantic, and S Atlantic oceans where garbage from land, fishing vessels, oil rigs, and freighters accumulates and cause problems.
