Title: Double click doesn't work in my version of Windows 8.1
Post by: Pmb on 01/04/2014 06:37:55
For some strange reason when I try to double click on a word to select it, nothing happens. Does anybody here know how to fix this? I read somewhere that someone recommended running "Disk Utility" and "repair disk permissions" but I can't find this program in windows 8.1 . Can someone tell me where to get a compatible version? Thanks.

I works for me, have you tried the mouse adjustment in the control panel and has the appropriate driver for the mouse been loaded ?.
I have a LOGITECH M205 mouse.
You could try running this it seems to fix most problems.

I think you need to associate the file-type with the [word processor] program you want to open it by default when you double-click on the file ...

If I open a .txt file with Adobe acrobat, notepad, WordPad or I.E 11, it works OK but not surprising not with Paint or Photoshop

You can associate the file type, say txt, with a particular program, so double-clicking on the [txt] file will open it in that program.

Here changing the association for txt from notepad to wordpad ...

I just realized that it doesn't always fail to do this.
