Lawrence Albertyn asked the Naked Scientists:
The other day I bought a cheap pair of plastic sandals - after a short while the soles of my feet were blackened by a kind of dye emanating from the plastic.
I do not know much about medicine or the human body but I do know that the pores under one's feet are very much larger than those on the rest of the body and can absorb both beneficial minerals and bad chemicals etc.
Have any studies been undertaken on this subject as I could not find anything on your site when searching? Also what are the possible side effects of using this type of shoe wear?
kind regards, Lawrence
