Hello peeps.
Being a very fair-skinned blonde I tend to burn rather than tan, so have to use sunblock. I've been given a bottle of self-tanning moisturiser. Can anyone enlighten (groan) me please as to how this works?

The only guess I can come up with is a dye included in the moisturiser.
But then again Im not that into cosmetics.

Gosh !..moisturiser that tans itself ...that's nice.
I am dark haired but very pale with blue eyes so i know what you mean about sun factor joy !!..I hate sunbathing anyway....how banal !!
can not see any redeeming features in it whatsoever....apart from looking at the girlies !!
The dye answer seems reasonable to me !..but then what do I know ?..I'm a sheep !!

That kind of combination sounds like it may be Celtic (maybe other Atlantic coast peoples, like the Basques, might be similar)?

OOOOH That's what I wanted my children to be.. But they took after my dad and husbands side..Blonde's and red heads all blue eyes and pale. I have brown hair Brown eyes and pale almost Blue I should try Gais moisturizer!! LOL I have never tanned anywhere except my lower arms and my feet around me sandals... Looked ridiculous! LOL! Always wanted a child with blond hair and my brown eyes an a child with very dark hair and Blue eyes.. Is a a combo you don't see as often at least not around here.. Extraordinary!

Thank you kind sir of wooly Celtishness, I will now use it in the certainty that it's nothing nasty. We're going to Morocco in January so at least I'll be able to pretend to have got a tan [:)]

GAia Let me know if it works and what it is called, I would love to try it as I too, am not a sunbather. I tried some years ago that stained my skin and made me look Jaundiced it was nasty. It was not a moistuizer! This may be way better! Does it take several applications or just a couple?

Hi Jen! I'm also a blue eyed, fair skinned blonde. I've never used the tanning moisturizer, but I've tried the creme and the tanning towelettes. They've gotten much better over the years, but use extra care around your feet and hands. It can look funky around the boney parts if you're not careful. Definitely start experimenting with it before your trip.

Now why on earth would ewe want to pretend ewe have a tan ?...I mean..why ahve a tan in the first place !!..tan is baaaaaaad !!!
I LUFF pale skin...my daughter Charlotte is so white !...in fact we're all pale skin dark haired blue eyed celts eh ?...YAYYYYYYYYYYYY !!
Well..of course I need to be sheared before displaying pale skin joy !!

I am english, Irish, swedish, dutch, and black foot Indian as far as I know from family history! Who Knows what what else, I am a girl from all over the place... Me blood is all over the world, no wonder me wants to travel.. My roots are all calling to me... and I am not talking about my gray ones either! Hear em'.......... COME HITHER YOUNG LADY.....Come hither...LOL LOL!

Gaia! I have used it before...use 1/2 regular lotion or moisturizer and then 1/2 of sunless tanning lotion...if you don't it will look fake...make sure you mix them both together really good in your hands...also, when you are through applying it to your body...wash your hands really good immediately or they will tan too! Elbows and knees will darken more...be careful applying it to those areas...

is jsut like to take this oppurtunity to talk about my pigmentation. i am lima bean green all over except my privates which are slightly darker and spotted with white. my hair is white at the tips but becomes more the-entire-spectrum-of-visual-color at the roots. i have tried all of the sunless tan lotions on the market because my species lives on chemical waste.
