My new resolutions are: To be my best friend to myself and then to others. To be grateful for all the many big and little thing I have in my life, in order focus more on the positive so it will grow. Finally to enjoy even more that Lemon Meringue Pie! Hey who’s prefect?    [^]

So what are yours!!

To do more dry humping and give up smoking.......possibly

But I don't do New Year Resolutions as I don't see the point in them  [:-\]

You know something ?...I have recently come to the exactly same conclusion as the Danster

Me has decided that New Years Resolutions are pointless....as 99% of the time they are broken within a week...if not a day !!

but...as per the usual..mine would be...lose weight...get fit..be happy !!..

..but me has to admit..that lemon Meringue Pie looks truly yummy !!!......Hmmm...me would like a whole swimming pool filled with it so that me could jump in it lots and lots and have a lemon meringue pie food fight !!..YAYYYYYYYYYY !!!

So it’s that time of the year again. You know the time when you feel obliged to give up something. After all it’s a new year and what better time is there to turn over a new leaf or start again? Of course there is all that guilt left over from this season of splurge. For some there is extra guilt of having told yourself “I am not going mad this year”, haven’t we all done that? I put on an extra few pounds myself and you know I enjoyed every bit of it. Me feeling guilty? No, what’s the point? Will it make it go away? No. will it motivate me to lose it? Probably not. I also stopped my regular training coming up to Christmas and I know that I have lost some hard won fitness. Am I going give myself a hard time about it? No I am not. Yea, I drank a few extra glasses of wine as well. You see I am all for you and I living our lives the way we want to and not beating ourselves up over it.

Now that’s not a say that we are not responsible for what we do, we are. Yes we can do what but it always has consequences. Some are good, some not so good. Some are short term like the taste of that extra serving of Lemon Meringue Pie. Others are medium like your clothes seem to get smaller this time of year. Then there is long term ones like heath. I know and you know your health and how you feel about yourself are linked and affect you just as much as how you look after yourself does. Holding onto guilt and self loathing is just as damaging as over indulging and physically neglecting yourself. Worst of all is doing both - isn’t it!

There are lots of reasons why we overdo it and for many of us me included it’s about changing the way we feel. This sort of mood control sadly doesn't last and more importantly it can lead to a self continuing trap. We often over indulge ourselves to feel good and afterwards we feel bad about it so we do it again to feel good and so on. Pretty soon are guild is driving us to give something. We end up doing battle with our willpower.

Now this may sound a ridicules idea, but we are fighting with ourselves over being nice to ourselves! So how about not give up anything. Instead take up caring for yourself. Find things you like to do that are good for you long term. Make them a new habit. Change the way to think about yourself and your future. My new resolutions are: To be my best friend to myself and then to others. To be grateful for all the many big and little thing I have in my life, in order focus more on the positive so it will grow. Finally to enjoy even more that Lemon Meringue Pie! Hey who’s prefect?

I agree as my resoulution would be to try to be a more patient person, and more understanding of others feelings and to try to be more positive about my life and my personal goals!! I know my weight loss goals are within my reach and will continue on the road down.. I will not worry so much about things in General..This one worries me as I am a big worry wort!! I will try on this one!!

Now please come down and I'll turn that frown, so a kiss I can then plant on thee, and make a wish for the new years dish that will be sweeter then any candy!!
