Here is partially fusion crusted probably Chassigny meteorite.
-
Provenance?
Justification for suspecting Martian origin?
-
Not very far from the place where Lodranite is originated. Here's another view..
-
Any chance of a translation for mere mortals? Chassigny? Lodranite?
-
Maybe just the way it is lit , but that looks like a pale crust on a darker rock.
Fusion crust on meteorites is a dark crust. (https://www.google.com/search?site=&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=&bih=&q=%22fusion+crust%22+stoney+meteorite&btnG=Search+by+image&search_plus_one=form)
Also looks like there are sedimentary layers on it which would exclude it being a meteorite ...

Is this a Chassigny meteorite?
This was not the thread topic that i created, i never asked for any so called meteorite ID....Besides you should study about some Impact melt rocks, and,
try to study conglomerate stones and their rock origin. and don't forget to study more about fluoride mineral and its crystal structure [;)]
