Can we understand exactly what consciousness is and where it is Located?

https://www.closertotruth.com/series/what-consciousness-part-1

Can we understand what it is?   That depends on definition,

Conscious being the opposite to asleep

Self aware

In control

What about if when you are conscious, your conscious actions are from a sub-conscious external control that you are not conscious of?

In short everything you do may not be even you doing it, have you ever watched a movie called Gamer?

Imagine a Robot with a radio control, press the button and the Robot moves, the Robot is unaware that it is moving, so how do we know we aren't All under control like the Robot and it is not in our ''programming'' to question the person with the control?

See? That was all quite easy to understand but your consciousness will not let you understand it.

Let me try it this way , ''you are a robot'', you do not know you are robot, every action you do , every word you speak, every bit of time you think you are conscious, is a direct command in real time.

So when you reply to ''this'', it is not even you replying , you are just following orders in real time.

Descartes said "If I doubt that I am doubting, then I know that I doubt and if I doubt I think and if I think, therefore "I know I am" (From memory)

But I think therefore I am is not thinking about what we are, we are ''energy''  processed by a ''shell'', without the shell you are no more than an unconscious ''energy''.   How energy ever became conscious is beyond me, but I do know light can carry information such as the radio control signal, maybe a physical ''sims'' game could be a reality, we now have 3 d printers so maybe we are just  a ''bio-circuit'' and consciousness is real time being controlled.
I could talk about consciousness for ever, well as long as I live, beyond facinates me, I always wonder what it will be like, rather peaceful I imgaine.

Maybe consciousnesses created energy to give it form, and you cannot talk about consciousness forever because you are a finite being.

That proves nothing abut consciousness other than the brain reacting to physical stimuli. It is more about how we think and not what happens to the brain when it is poked about by people, who know almost nothing about it as the complex structure in the known universe.

Poking with electrodes in living creatures does reveal what part of the brain is responsible for what faculty. Being able to read (https://youtu.be/UyyjU8fzEYU?t=12m5s), count (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyscalculia#History), name objects (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anomic_aphasia), recognise faces (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosopagnosia) are types of thinking , and can be lost if particular parts of the brain are damaged. That damage to those regions causes specific faculties to be lost proves those types of thinking reside within specific regions of the brain , rather than elsewhere.

Thanks for the links I have not yet gone to them, but will do so and comment later if that is OK with you?

There is significant evidence indicating that things much smaller than an amoebas have the capacity to react to some type of consciousness interference. For example, electrons behave differently depending on whether or not they are being observed or not, by collapsing into one state or the other.

Unobserved, particles act according to the properties of waves, but when the electron is subject to scrutiny they behaves in the manner we would expect it to and remain a particle.

This suggests that electrons are "aware" of being observed in some sense or the other, by conscious entities. I admit that fundamental particles do not have actual physical brains, but by extrapolation of quantum wave/particle function, suggest that it might be correct to say that, consciousness "is not just a function of brain activity", but a deeper more fundamental reality of the universe.

All conscious entities could, if we had the tools to do it, be measured for their inter- connectivity, with other entities, both large or small and that consciousness itself, might quite possibly be the actual, literal relationship or connection between self- aware modules of the brain and the greater world outside of its confines.

The brain being the hardware and the consciousness being the software, or non-physical part of a thinking human being.

"There has been speculation"? by a few scientists, that the conscious - self, might extend beyond the confines of the physical brain as some sort of quantum field. (I will try to get citation about this and return later) The Soul or mind?

As I see it, we have an inner brain and an outer brain which makes up our chemical brain. In addition we have a radiated brain in gravitational waves. this level of our brain is interconnected with all other creatures and it centers at the center of the Earth. Thus even though our physical brain perishes we still have our spiritual brain.
The spiritual brain needs heat energy to survive. When our body cools the gravitational radiation will still remain but no new thoughts will occur unless the soul achieves a heat source. Thus our spiritual mind must flow toward the center of the Earth to survive.
In life we are all spiritually interconnected. This is not only with other humans but with the spirit of the plants and animals as well. It is all one natural spiritual entity.
In the womb, the forming fetus is more spiritual than the baby. As soon as a child is born his eyes and mind looks outward. Thus his outer mind feeds data to his inner mind and his spiritual mind becomes less and less important to him. the fetus relies upon his spiritual mind for information as his brain forms. He picks up most of the information from his mother.
So as we are born and grow older we become less spiritual and less interconnected with the entire spiritual Earth.
