Title: Feedback: Is there yeast in sourdough?
Post by: thedoc on 14/09/2016 15:53:01
Janice Gentle  asked the Naked Scientists:
My understanding is that the organism used to make sour dough is not actually a yeast at all, but a lactobacillus.  My current sour dough mixture was started using yoghurt.  When I first began cooking with sourdough (early 60s), I put the milk outside, with a cheesecloth cover, etc.
