Ranjan bania asked the Naked Scientists:
How can you increase the power of electromagnetic attractions?
What do you think?

1. Move closer to the source: If you halve the distance to a point source, electrostatic and electromagnetic effects quadruple in strength. It can increase more than that for magnetic fields or near-field electromagnetic fields.
2. Increase the strength/intensity of the source: Increase the electric charge or magnetic field. Increase the radiated power of an electromagnetic source
3. Guide the field so more of it is where you want it: For magnetism, this can be done with a high-permeability material like iron or ferrite. For electromagnetic radiation, you can use mirrors or waveguides/optical fibers to focus the field. For electric fields, you can use a high permittivity material so most of the electric field is applied where you want it.
4. Use a more sensitive detector, which responds more readily to the existing electromagnetic field.

Please give a bit more context about what sort of electromagnetic attraction you would like to increase, and why?
