Post by: thedoc on 12/12/2016 09:53:01
rachael harper  asked the Naked Scientists:

When an eletrical impulse is triggered off which part of the brain does it go to? Also, what nerve does it connect to?

See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olfactory_nerve

This nerve passes through tiny holes in a bone called the cribriform plate; a sharp impact to the face can shear off the olfactory nerves, and cause a loss of the sense of smell.
